What they did to poor Tintin - Ce qu'ils ont fait au pauvre Tintin

Coming out of the new Tintin film directed by Steven Spielberg, I found myself, for a few seconds, too stunned and sickened to speak; for I had been obliged to watch two hours of literally senseless violence being perpetrated on something I loved dearly. In fact, the sense of violation was so strong that it felt as though I had witnessed a rape. I use this comparison not as a provocation or to cause unnecessary offense: I am using it in honor of a very good joke made in an episode of South Park, in which the cartoon’s children watch the final Indiana Jones film and are so traumatized by what they have seen that they go round to the police station and try to get Spielberg and his colleagues charged with the crime. “What they did to poor Indy. They made him squeal like a pig.”

En sortant du nouveau film de Tintin réalisé par Steven Spielberg, je me suis retrouvé quelques instants trop abasourdi et écœuré pour pouvoir parler, car, j'avais été obligé de regarder deux heures de violence complètement insensée, perpétrée sur quelque chose que j'aimais tendrement. En fait, le sentiment de transgression était si fort que j'avais l'impression d'avoir été témoin d'un viol. J'utilise cette comparaison non comme une provocation, ni pour offenser quiconque inutilement, mais en référence à une très bonne blague faite dans un épisode de South Park, dans lequel les enfants du dessin animé regardent le dernier film d'Indiana Jones, et sont tellement traumatisés parce qu'ils ont vu, qu'ils se rendent au poste de police pour essayer de faire accuser Spielberg et ses collègues de ce crime : « Ce qu'ils ont fait au pauvre Indy... ils l'ont fait crier comme un cochon. »
