Backbone.js

Backbone.js gives structure to web applications by providing models with key-value binding and custom events, collections with a rich API of enumerable functions, views with declarative event handling, and connects it all to your existing API over a RESTful JSON interface.
The project is hosted on GitHub, and the annotated source code is available, as well as an online test suite, an example application, a list of tutorials and a long list of real-world projects that use Backbone. Backbone is available for use under the MIT software license.
You can report bugs and discuss features on the GitHub issues page, on Freenode IRC in the #documentcloud channel, post questions to the Google Group, add pages to the wiki or send tweets to @documentcloud.
Backbone is an open-source component of DocumentCloud.
Introduction
When working on a web application that involves a lot of JavaScript, one of the first things you learn is to stop tying your data to the DOM. It's all too easy to create JavaScript applications that end up as tangled piles of jQuery selectors and callbacks, all trying frantically to keep data in sync between the HTML UI, your JavaScript logic, and the database on your server. For rich client-side applications, a more structured approach is often helpful.
With Backbone, you represent your data as Models, which can be created, validated, destroyed, and saved to the server. Whenever a UI action causes an attribute of a model to change, the model triggers a "change" event; all the Views that display the model's state can be notified of the change, so that they are able to respond accordingly, re-rendering themselves with the new information. In a finished Backbone app, you don't have to write the glue code that looks into the DOM to find an element with a specific id, and update the HTML manually — when the model changes, the views simply update themselves.
Introduction

Créatif ou rigoureux - Creative or rigorous

It works for me, now, Martin is more professional than Gaston, right?
Not so sure ... Maybe Gaston presents better with clients, he's also a bit more rigorous, but Martin is a real product guy and creative. Gaston should be fine as account manager, maybe. Anyway, not with us ...

In Celebration of My Uterus - En célébration de mon utérus

Excerpt
Everyone in me is a bird.
I am beating all my wings.
They wanted to cut you out
but they will not.
They said you were immeasurably empty
but you are not.
They said you were sick unto dying
but they were wrong.
You are singing like a school girl.
You are not torn.

Wanting to die - Vouloir mourir

Excerpt
Since you ask, most days I cannot remember.
I walk in my clothing, unmarked by that voyage.
Then the almost unnameable lust returns.
Even then I have nothing against life.
I know well the grass blades you mention,
the furniture you have placed under the sun.
But suicides have a special language.
Like carpenters they want to know which tools.
They never ask why build.

The little prince and the artist - Le petit prince et l'artiste

"Why do you have wings?" Asked the little prince. The woman laughed. "I have wings so that I can fly to other planets. I fly to other planets to get inspiration for my art. Look." She showed him a painting of a bird. "Could you draw me a sheep?" Asked the prince. "I would, but I do not remember what they look like. Come with me." She said, walking into the jungle. The little prince followed her. "This planet is my home. I am friends with all the birds that live here." The little prince looked around, but saw no birds. "Where are the birds?" She laughed again, and it reminded him of a bird's chirp. "The birds are at the lagoon." She pushed aside a curtain of vines to reveal a picturesque blue lagoon, with many different birds in the trees and on the water. The little prince was shocked to see a place of such beauty, and was amazed. "Would you like to paint with me?" The artist asked. She handed the little prince a paintbrush and a piece of canvas, then led him around the lagoon to an easel. "Work here, I have the paints." The little prince fixed the canvas to the easel, and stared at it. "What do I paint?" The artist smiled. "Paint what you feel. It is difficult to express oneself through words. Everybody is different and has their own way of expressing themselves. You should express yourself freely. It is good for your heart. " The little prince stared at the easel again and then dipped his brush into a bucket of red paint, then dragged it across the canvas. "What are you painting?" Asked the artist. "The flowers here are pretty, but they will never be as beautiful as my rose. I'm expressing that." The red paint formed a jagged blossom, and a stroke of green paint formed the stem, along with the rose's four thorns. "That is very good for your first painting," the artist said. The little prince stepped back to admire his work, then grew sad. "I must be leaving now. I will leave my painting with you." The artist frowned and nodded. "My birds will take you where you want to go." He smiled. "Thank you, angel. I would like to come back someday." The artist patted his head. "Until we meet again, little prince. Goodbye." And with that, the little prince had the birds take him to his next destination.

A thousand doors ago
when I was a lonely kid
in a big house with four
garages and it was summer
as long as I could remember,
I lay on the lawn at night,
clover wrinkling over me,
the wise stars bedding over me.

They got back quickly to the car parked four houses away. There were no other cars going by. Gray followed the maze of small streets, and managed to get out of the neighborhood labyrinth. He reached the highway, and headed for the town center.
- We can forget about Garcia, said Darby.
- Not yet. We will give it another try tomorrow, maybe she will agree to speak to us.
