Sunday at the beach - Dimanche à la plage

Last Sunday, I went to the park with my family for a picnic. We played sports together, like cricket and football and when we got tired we ate sandwiches. It was a very hot day. It made me realize how it was a very typical day for an Australian. I think a day in the life of a French person would be very different than in Australia. For example, a day in France is generally based in the city and is more modern, as they would go to the cinema and go shopping, while an Australian would pass an afternoon in the park or the beach, somewhere in nature. The sports are a big part of Australian culture, more so than in France, French people love spending time in the city. Australians love the outdoor life.

Dimanche dernier, je suis allée au parc avec ma famille pour un pique-nique. Nous avons fait du sport ensemble, notamment du cricket et du football, et quand on était fatigué, on a mangé des sandwiches. La journée était très chaude. Ça m'a fait réaliser que c'était une journée très typique pour un Australien. Je pense que la journée d'un Français serait très différente de celle d'un Australien. Par exemple, une journée en France se passe généralement en ville, c'est plus moderne, il irait plutôt au cinéma, ou faire les magasins, alors qu'un Australien passerait l'après-midi dans un parc ou à la plage, quelque part dans la nature. Le sport est aussi quelque chose d'important dans la culture australienne, beaucoup plus qu'en France, les Français aiment passer du temps dans la ville. Les Australiens aiment la vie en plein air.
